Job Description:

Senior Management Accountant
Cherry Professional is working with a growing, multi-entity, acquisitive SME group in Coalville to recruit a Senior Management Accountant into a newly created position reporting directly to the Financial Controller.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys bringing structure, improving controls, and making finance “work better” — particularly in fast-moving, cash-tight environments where process improvement and robust month-end disciplines really matter.
 
The opportunity
The group is managing multiple entities with increasing complexity, and they now need an experienced Management Accountant to help strengthen reporting, controls, and processes across the businesses (including supporting system/process improvements and reducing manual workload).
Key responsibilities

• Support delivery of timely, accurate monthly management accounts across multiple entities
• Improve month-end controls (reconciliations, accruals/prepayments, balance sheet integrity)
• Drive process and systems improvements (reducing manual steps, tightening approval flows)
• Partner with operational stakeholders to improve financial visibility and decision-making
• Produce and enhance MI / reporting (strong Excel required)
• Help create consistency across entities (standardising reporting packs, cadence, and controls)

What we’re looking for

• Strong experience as a Management Accountant within an SME / owner-managed / family-run style environment
• Comfortable in multi-entity structures (or keen to step into that complexity)
• Qualified / Part-Qualified / QBE all considered — capability matters more than letters
• Confident with systems and process improvement (someone who can spot inefficiencies and fix them)
• Naturally practical, “roll sleeves up” mindset — able to bring order without upsetting culture
• Experience from cash-tight sectors (e.g., manufacturing / leisure & hospitality / transport) would suit well
• Practice-trained candidates welcomed if you’ve moved into industry and enjoy operational finance

Package & working pattern

• Permanent, full-time
• 40 hours per week
• On-site (Coalville)
• Salary: circa £45,000 (flexibility for the right person)
