About SeCore

SeCore Information Security Ltd is a UK cybersecurity company combining a quantitative security-assurance platform with specialist assessment services. We help organisations evaluate the security of their systems, identify gaps against relevant standards and internal policies, compare security performance, and prioritise improvements according to their impact and cost. Our approach is grounded in cybersecurity research and connects technical assessment results with business decision-making.

The opportunity

We are looking for an experienced, commercially driven sales professional with a demonstrable track record of selling cybersecurity services or solutions and converting opportunities into signed, revenue-generating contracts.

You will take ownership of the full sales cycle: identifying prospective customers, initiating conversations, understanding their requirements, developing proposals with our technical team, negotiating commercial terms and closing business.

This is a hands-on, individual-contributor role with direct access to the founders. It is suited to someone who enjoys building business in a growing company, can generate their own opportunities and is comfortable being accountable for measurable commercial results.

This is not a lead-generation-only, appointment-setting or sales-strategy advisory position.

What you will sell

You will sell SeCore’s platform licences and cybersecurity services, including quantitative security assessments, risk evaluation, penetration testing, standards-aligned security and compliance assessments, security improvement planning, benchmarking, and recurring assurance engagements. Services also include assurance-profile and test-plan design, platform training and staff security awareness.

Your role is to translate these capabilities into a clear business case: helping customers understand their exposure, make better security investment decisions and provide evidence to management, customers and other stakeholders.

Your responsibilities

  • Generate new business. Identify target accounts and decision-makers, and create opportunities through direct outreach, professional relationships, referrals and relevant industry activity. You should be able to build a pipeline without depending solely on inbound enquiries.
  • Own opportunities through to close. Lead discovery, qualification, presentations, proposal development, follow-up, negotiation and contract completion.
  • Sell business outcomes. Understand the customer’s security concerns, commercial priorities, budget, buying process and timescale, then develop a relevant proposal with SeCore’s technical specialists.
  • Deliver sustainable revenue. Win new customers, convert appropriate initial assessments into recurring platform or assurance engagements, and identify expansion opportunities while maintaining commercially sound pricing.
  • Maintain disciplined sales execution. Keep the customer relationship management system accurate, provide credible forecasts, document next steps and coordinate a clear handover to the delivery team.

Essential experience and capabilities

  • A proven record in business-to-business cybersecurity sales, such as security assessment, penetration testing, cybersecurity consultancy, governance, risk and compliance solutions, or cybersecurity software.
  • Evidence of personally achieving sales targets and closing new customers. You should be able to explain your individual contribution, revenue achieved, typical contract values and how you generated the opportunities.
  • Experience managing the complete sales cycle, including self-generated prospecting, discovery, proposals, negotiation and closing—not solely supporting another salesperson.
  • Confidence engaging technical and senior business stakeholders, including security leaders, IT directors, risk and compliance teams, procurement and business owners.
  • The ability to work independently in a growing business, with strong commercial judgement, clear communication, consistent follow-through and realistic forecasting.

You do not need to be a penetration tester or security engineer. You do need to understand cybersecurity well enough to hold a credible commercial conversation and recognise when technical specialists should be involved.

Particularly valuable experience

An established professional network in the UK cybersecurity market would be an advantage, as would experience selling both professional services and recurring software or assurance subscriptions.

Relevant sector experience may include professional services, healthcare, financial services, insurance, logistics, manufacturing, technology or other organisations with significant security and assurance requirements. Experience winning business for a smaller or less-established vendor is particularly relevant.

What success looks like

Success will be measured primarily through new customers won, signed contract value, recurring revenue and commercially sound deals. Pipeline quality, conversion rates and forecast accuracy will also matter; activity levels alone will not define success.

During onboarding, we will agree a focused target market, sales objectives and a practical ramp-up plan. Early priorities will include learning the offering, establishing a qualified pipeline and progressing suitable opportunities towards paid engagements.

What the role offers

A base salary with performance-related commission, direct collaboration with the founders and technical team, and meaningful ownership of new-business development. You will have the opportunity to shape SeCore’s sales approach and take on greater commercial responsibility as your results and the business develop.
