Senior Support Worker / Shift Leader – Leicester

Location: Leicester, LE3
Pay: £12.80–£13.00 per hour, depending on experience
Hours: 40 hours per week
Shifts: 8am–8pm and 8pm–8am
Contract: Full-time, temp-to-permanent

Brookes HC Recruitment is recruiting an experienced Senior Support Worker for a residential care service in Leicester.

The service provides 24-hour, person-centred support to adults with a range of complex needs. We are looking for a dependable and confident Senior Support Worker who can lead shifts, support the wider care team and help maintain consistently high standards of care.

Key responsibilities

• Leading shifts and providing guidance to Support Workers
• Administering and recording medication safely
• Supporting people with their daily routines and personal care
• Following individual care and support plans
• Promoting independence, dignity, choice and wellbeing
• Completing accurate care records and shift handovers
• Responding appropriately to incidents and safeguarding concerns
• Ensuring company policies and procedures are followed
• Supporting senior management with the smooth running of the service

Essential requirements

• Previous experience working within health and social care
• Practical experience administering and recording medication
• Confidence taking responsibility during a shift
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• A reliable, professional and person-centred approach
• Flexibility to work both day and night shifts
• An existing unrestricted right to work in the UK

Previous experience as a Senior Support Worker, Team Leader or Shift Leader is strongly preferred.
