Newark / Mansfield (Outskirts), Full Time, Permanent
£38,000 per annum DOE + Benefits

Future Prospects Group are delighted to be working with our client, an industry-leading engineering client, to recruit a Senior Technical Design Engineer on a full-time, permanent basis.

The Role

Our Client is seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Technical Design Engineer to join their expanding Design and Technical team. This is a varied role suited to an Engineer with strong practical mechanical knowledge, combined with a very good understanding of electrical systems, controls and technical design.

In this role, the successful Candidate will take ownership of a range of day-to-day design engineering and design activities, including mechanical design, technical drawings, schematics, BOMs and technical documentation. You will provide technical guidance to other members of the Design Team, review design engineering work and act as a key point of contact for technical queries from across the business.

Working closely with the Design Team Leader, the Senior Technical Design Engineer will also support the delivery of innovative R&D projects, bespoke customer systems and new product developments. You will develop a broad understanding of the company's products and technologies, providing technical and project continuity when required and helping to ensure knowledge is retained within the business.

The Candidate

The ideal Senior Technical Design Engineer will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Minimum 2-3 years experience in a technical role.
  • Technically minded with a genuine interest in understanding how products and systems work.
  • Proactive, self-motivated and confident taking ownership of engineering tasks.
  • Collaborative and able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
  • Strong 3D CAD skills, preferably with experience using SolidWorks and 2D drawing packages.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly
  • Strong user of adobe and Microsoft packages
  • Experience creating and reviewing Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Ability to interpret and review mechanical, electrical and control schematics and technical documentation.
