Service & Repair Engineer - Luton, Bedfordshire.
A leading engineering manufacturer with a long-standing reputation for delivering high-quality solutions across the Power, Oil & Gas, Nuclear and Industrial sectors is seeking a skilled Service & Repair Engineer to join its growing team in Luton.
This is a diverse role that combines field service work with customer interaction and hands-on engineering in the workshop. You will have the chance to work on complex equipment while supporting customers throughout the UK and beyond.
As a Service & Repair Engineer, you will install, commission, repair, and maintain equipment at customer sites, acting as the primary point of contact. You will ensure all work is completed safely and to high standards. When not on-site, you will assist with overhaul, repair, assembly, and testing activities in the workshop.J
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair activities at customer sites
- Diagnose faults and provide effective engineering solutions
- Act as the main customer contact during site activities
- Supervise customer personnel, contractors and third-party labour where required
- Ensure all work complies with health & safety, environmental and quality requirements
- Participate in risk assessments and promote safe working practices
- Deliver projects to agreed specifications, schedules and quality standards
- Support the overhaul, assembly, inspection and testing of equipment
- Work closely with engineering and management teams to resolve technical challenges
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and efficient resource utilisation
The successful Service & Repair Engineer will ideally have:
- Previous field service or site-based engineering experience
- Experience working on large-scale industrial machinery
- Mechanical and/or electrical engineering experience
- Experience within the Power, Manufacturing, Oil & Gas or related industries
- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach
- Engineering qualification such as an Apprenticeship, HNC, Technical Certificate or equivalent experience

**Please note this role requires circa 120 days of international travel per year in 2-6 week blocks, and the successful candidate must be prepared to go through basic security clearance.
