Structural Steelwork & Architectural Metalwork Draughtsman

Location: Leicester (Office-Based)
Salary: Circa £40,000 (Depending on Experience)

The Opportunity

A well-established specialist contractor within the structural steelwork and architectural metalwork sector is looking to recruit an experienced Draughtsman to join its growing team in Leicester.

This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with strong Tekla and CAD skills to work on a diverse range of projects, producing accurate fabrication and installation drawings for structural steel and architectural metalwork packages.

The Role

Working from the company's Leicester office, you will be responsible for producing detailed technical drawings and models for a variety of steelwork and metalwork projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Producing detailed fabrication and GA drawings using Tekla Structures and AutoCAD.
• Creating accurate 3D models for structural steelwork and architectural metalwork projects.
• Liaising with project managers, engineers, and fabrication teams.
• Reviewing project specifications and architectural drawings.
• Ensuring drawings comply with project requirements and industry standards.
• Assisting with design coordination and resolving technical queries.
• Supporting projects from initial design through to manufacture and installation.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Draughtsman within structural steelwork and/or architectural metalwork.
• Proficient in Tekla Structures and AutoCAD.
• Strong understanding of steel fabrication and construction drawings.
• Ability to interpret engineering and architectural designs.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work within a team environment.

Package

• Salary circa £40,000 depending on experience.
