We are currently recruiting for experienced Support Workers on behalf of our client based in Leicestershire.

About the Role of a Support Worker:

As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in empowering individuals to live independently, make informed choices, and achieve positive outcomes. You will provide person-centred support while promoting dignity, respect, independence, and inclusion.

Shift Patterns for the Support Worker:

Various shifts available, including:

• 8:00am – 3:00pm

• 10:00am – 6:00pm

• 2:00pm – 9:30pm

Key Responsibilities for the Support Worker:

• Support service users to express their views, make informed decisions, and maintain their independence.

• Assist individuals with daily living activities and personal development goals.

• Support people with mental health needs and promote emotional wellbeing.

• Encourage and assist with maintaining personal hygiene and good health.

• Administer medication in accordance with policies and procedures.

• Support access to education, employment, training, and community activities.

• Help individuals maintain relationships with family and friends and develop social networks.

• Assist with budgeting, shopping, cooking, cleaning, and household management.

• Follow and review individual care and support plans, recording progress accurately.

• Provide support to individuals who may present behaviours that challenge.

• Maintain accurate records using IT systems and written documentation.

• Handle financial transactions and maintain appropriate records where required.

• Promote safeguarding and protect vulnerable adults from abuse or neglect.

• Ensure compliance with health and safety, infection control, and organisational policies.

• Respond appropriately to emergencies and health and safety concerns.

Requirements for the Support Worker:

• Previous experience working as a Support Worker & Care Worker  in a similar care setting.

• Good understanding of person-centred care and support.

• Knowledge of safeguarding vulnerable adults.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to maintain accurate records and use basic IT systems.

• Flexible approach to working shifts, weekends, and Bank Holidays.

• NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care.

• Experience supporting individuals with mental health needs, learning disabilities, or complex needs.

• Medication administration training.

• Full UK driving licence.
