Teaching Assistant – Walsall

Colmore Education is currently recruiting for a caring, dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Walsall.

This is a rewarding opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting children and young people and helping them overcome barriers to learning. The successful candidate will work closely with pupils who may have a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC) and ADHD.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils.
• Support children and young people with Autism, ADHD and other additional needs.
• Assist pupils with their learning and development across the school day.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Support pupils with emotional regulation, behaviour and social development.
• Help pupils develop their confidence, independence and communication skills.
• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and other members of the school team.
• Adapt your approach to meet individual pupils' needs.
• Help maintain a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment.

Previous experience working within a school, SEN setting, care environment or with children and young people is desirable. However, transferable experience will also be considered for the right candidate.

DBS Requirement

Due to the nature of this role, applicants must be able to provide evidence of a valid Child and Adult DBS or be willing to undergo the appropriate DBS checks prior to commencing work.
