Salary: £21,102 for 39 weeks per year term time

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 4.30pm

JR Personnel are an employment agency acting on behalf of a client who is looking for an excellent TLA – this is a great opportunity to work in a school, and is a temporary role initially. You do not have to have school experience; we are looking for someone who has maybe been a mechanic, or worked with garden machinery, or has been a joiner, bricklayer, plumber or painter. We are looking for a hands-on professional who can assist the teacher with  vocational subjects. The department helps school children learn how to mend a car, a bike, brick lay, build a go kart, make a shed etc. You must be encouraging, approachable, adaptable, patient and friendly and enjoy helping others to learn and develop.

The Opportunity:

Our client is an educational establishment who is renowned for excellence. This role is to provide learning and pastoral support to individual pupil(s) within the school and works under the direction and supervision of the teacher to assist with the planning, delivery and evaluation of learning activities for groups and individual pupils.

Job Purpose:

• Support teacher with classroom/lesson prep
• Watch, record and report student progress
• Cleaning tasks
• Promote and support the development of pupils’ self-reliance, self-esteem and emotional resilience as well as educational development
• Transport, escort and supervise pupils on educational visits and off-site activities, ensuring their health, safety and well-being
• Supervise students at break and lunch times, including the provision of social activities
• Complete standardised pupil assessments as required
• Attend all compulsory in house training.
