Orbital Recruitment are looking for an experienced Patternmaker / Toolmaker to join our manufacturing specialist client in Derby.

Salary & Working Hours

• Starting salary: £36,744.40
• Monday to Friday
• Flexible start times between 6:00am and 8:00am
• Overtime available

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who can come in and get up to speed quickly, with solid hands-on experience in a pattern shop or toolroom environment.

You’ll need:

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in engineering toolmaking or patternmaking within a similar industry
• A sound knowledge of patternmaking and toolmaking
• Experience working within a pattern shop or toolroom environment
• Strong hand finishing skills
• The ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings
• Experience producing tooling or patterns for industries such as:
  • Automotive
  • Foundry
  • Aerospace
  • Marine

Main Responsibilities

• Producing tool parts in aluminium, cast iron and steel
• Making jigs and fixtures for the production of automotive and foundry components
• Carrying out hand finishing work to a high standard
• Reverse engineering parts for repair where required
• Following company processes, quality procedures and housekeeping standards as part of the quality management system
