About the RoleAs a Transport Controller, you will provide vital operational support through delivery planning and performance reporting. You will be responsible for planning routes, liaising with engineers, and resolving discrepancies, including POD management. Additionally, you will support the Transport Supervisor to ensure service levels are maintained during peak periods. Please note that shift flexibility is essential for this night shift role.
As part of your key responsibilities you’ll:
- Plan routes and co-ordinate the inbound and outbound movement of goods to ensure timely delivery
- Liaise with engineers and customers to resolve discrepancies and manage POD documentation
- Maintain high service levels during peak periods and provide cover for the Transport Supervisor
- Execute administrative duties with high attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Deliver against key performance indicators (KPIs) and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Work collaboratively as a team player to maintain safety standards and operational efficiency

- Excellent customer service skills supported by a good commercial understanding
- Previous experience in transport, distribution, or a 3PL environment
- Strong administrative skills with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- A growth mind-set with an eagerness to learn, develop, and define new processes
- Confidence in decision-making and strong problem-solving capabilities using your own initiative
- Proficiency in computer systems and a demonstrable understanding of Health & Safety legislation
