Job Title: Turning Technician

Location: Leicester
Salary: Up to £38,500 per annum
Shift: Rotating: 6am-2pm and 2pm-10pm (Friday: 6am-1pm and 1pm-8pm)

The company is a specialist manufacturer of high-precision components, supplying advanced optical solutions to a range of industries.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Turning Technician to manufacture high-precision infrared and visible optical components using single-point diamond turning machinery, achieving exceptional surface finishes and micron-level tolerances.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate diamond turning machines.
• Interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing instructions.
• Select tooling and adjust machine settings.
• Inspect components using precision measurement equipment.
• Maintain quality standards, production records and traceability.
• Follow Health & Safety procedures and support continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Experience operating diamond turning machines or CNC lathes.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances.
• Experience using precision measurement equipment.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
