We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Vehicle Damage Assessor to join their established automotive bodyshop in Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire. The Vehicle Damage Assessor role offers a competitive salary of up to £45,000 per annum, depending on experience, with a typical working week of Monday to Friday, 42.5 hours, with flexibility around working hours. This position provides an excellent opportunity to progress within a busy accident repair environment, working closely with customers, insurers, and the workshop team to ensure high-quality repair standards are maintained.

Duties of a Vehicle Damage Assessor:- Conduct thorough assessments of vehicle damage following accidents
- Prepare accurate repair estimates using industry-standard estimating systems
- Evaluate repair methods, parts requirements, and labour times
- Liaise with insurance companies and relevant parties to facilitate repair approvals
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding damage, repair timelines, and progress
- Collaborate with workshop colleagues to develop feasible repair plans
- Monitor ongoing repairs and adjust estimates as additional damage is identified
- Ensure all repairs align with manufacturer and industry standards
- Maintain accurate records, ensuring all systems are up to date
- Contribute to delivering vehicles to customers within agreed timescales
- Uphold high levels of customer service throughout the repair process
Requirements of a Vehicle Damage Assessor:- Proven experience as a Vehicle Damage Assessor within a bodyshop or accident repair setting
- Strong knowledge of vehicle repair techniques and accident damage assessment
- Experience in producing precise repair estimates
- Good understanding of insurance repair procedures
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- High attention to detail and organisational ability
- Capacity to manage multiple vehicles and priorities effectively
- Professional, proactive, and team-focused approach
- Ability to work effectively with customers, insurers, and workshop colleagues
