Vehicle Prep Technician
Location: Rochester, Kent
Salary: £39,529 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:30am to 4:30pm
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Vehicle Prep Technician to join a busy and professional bodyshop team based in Rochester. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in producing high-quality work, has excellent attention to detail, and enjoys working within a fast-paced automotive environment.
You will be responsible for preparing vehicles for paint, carrying out repairs using approved methods, and supporting the wider team to ensure vehicles are restored to the highest possible standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare vehicles and panels for paint, including masking, sanding, and priming.
- Inspect prepared panels to ensure they are free from defects before painting.
- Carry out repairs and preparation work to restore vehicles to their original condition.
- Follow approved repair methods and quality standards.
- Support colleagues across other bodyshop departments when required.
- Assist with the training and development of junior technicians and trainees.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping and health & safety standards.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience in a vehicle preparation, bodyshop, or similar automotive role.
- A full UK driving licence.
- The ability to work independently and make sound decisions when required.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
- A passion for the automotive industry and pride in your work.
- A willingness to support and mentor junior technicians.
