Vehicle Technician
Location: Kettering, Northamptonshire
Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 per annum
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Vehicle Technician / Motor Mechanic to join an independent and growing automotive workshop in Kettering.
This is a varied role where you will work on a wide range of vehicles, from everyday customer cars through to German performance vehicles, classic cars, luxury models and occasional supercars.
The successful candidate will need to be confident diagnosing faults, carrying out complex repairs and working independently, with a high level of care and attention to detail when working on high-value and performance vehicles.

The Role
You will take responsibility for vehicles from initial diagnosis through to completion, working with the support of an administration team who will handle bookings, parts ordering and customer communication.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Carrying out servicing, routine maintenance and vehicle inspections
Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults across a variety of makes and models
Carrying out brake, suspension, drivetrain and general mechanical repairs
Undertaking more complex mechanical work, including timing chain replacements and head gasket repairs
Carrying out engine repairs and rebuilds where required
Diagnosing and repairing prestige and performance vehicles
Inspecting and preparing vehicles for sale
Carrying out tyre fitting and other general workshop duties
Providing clear diagnostic information and repair recommendations
Maintaining a clean, organised and professional workshop environment
Ensuring all work is completed to a consistently high standard
