Vehicle Technician

Job description

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for a Vehicle Technician to join their well-established, family-run independent automotive service centre located in Salisbury. The Vehicle Technician will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of vehicle diagnosis, servicing, maintenance, and repairs within a busy workshop environment. The successful Vehicle Technician will work closely with the business owners and a friendly team, ensuring all tasks are completed to the company’s rigorous standards.

• Monday to Friday working hours from 8:00/8:30 am to 5:30 pm, with no weekend work required

Duties:

• Conduct fault diagnosis, servicing, and repairs on a variety of vehicles
• Maintain accurate records of vehicle condition and repair work
• Assist in diagnosing and reporting vehicle safety, reliability, and performance issues
• Adhere strictly to Health & Safety procedures and work quality standards
• Assist with vehicle MOT testing (training provided if necessary)
• Work efficiently to meet targets set by the workshop management

Requirements:

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair is strongly preferred
• Several years of practical experience as a Vehicle Technician
• Strong diagnostic skills and attention to detail
• Valid UK driving licence with minimal points
• Motivated team player capable of producing high-quality work
• Vehicle Technicians without formal qualifications but with extensive experience are encouraged to apply
• Technicians with a valid MOT testing license will have a significant advantage but training can be provided
