Job description

Job Title: Waking Night Children & Young People’s Worker (Residential Support Worker)
Location: Hinckley, Leicestershire (with flexibility to cover shifts across local homes if needed)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent 

The Role:

We’re recruiting a Waking Night Residential Support Worker to join a new Emotional Wellbeing Assessment Home supporting children and young people aged 8–18. You’ll help create a safe, nurturing environment overnight, promoting stability, wellbeing and positive routines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build trusted, consistent relationships that promote safety, wellbeing and independence
  • Support children and young people through the night, responding appropriately to needs and incidents
  • Maintain a safe, calm environment, following safeguarding and health & safety procedures
  • Complete accurate record keeping and documentation
  • Contribute to the upkeep of the home (light domestic tasks as required)

Requirements:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to achieve within the required timeframe)
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding and supporting vulnerable children/young people
  • Flexibility for night shifts, including weekends/bank holidays as required
  • Experience with children/young people is desirable, but attitude and values are key
