Lead. Build. Grow. Join an Exciting New Warehouse Operation.

Are you a hands-on Warehouse Team Leader who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment? Do you have experience leading a team of 15+ warehouse operatives and enjoy being part of something new, where you can make a real impact from day one?

We are recruiting experienced Warehouse Team Leaders to join a brand-new, state-of-the-art distribution centre in Birmingham, supporting a major global logistics partner working with one of the world's leading social commerce platforms.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing e-commerce operation at a pivotal stage of its development. With a dynamic working environment, evolving processes and ambitious operational goals, this is the ideal opportunity for a proactive leader who wants to help shape a site, develop their team and grow alongside the business.

We're looking for more than someone who can manage a shift. We want leaders who can take ownership, lead from the front and help build a successful operation.

The Role

As a Warehouse Team Leader, you will take responsibility for leading, motivating and developing a team of warehouse operatives, ensuring daily operational targets, productivity, quality and service levels are consistently achieved.

You'll be a visible, hands-on presence on the warehouse floor, leading by example, supporting your team and working closely with management and fellow Team Leaders to keep operations running smoothly.

As this is a new site, flexibility, initiative and a willingness to adapt will be essential. You'll need to be comfortable working in an environment where processes may evolve, challenges need resolving quickly and no two shifts are necessarily the same.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, motivate and manage a team of 15+ warehouse operatives, driving performance, engagement and accountability.
  • Take ownership of daily shift operations, ensuring productivity, quality and service-level targets are achieved.
  • Allocate workloads effectively and ensure resources are deployed to meet changing operational demands.
  • Maintain a strong presence on the warehouse floor, supporting operatives and leading by example.
  • Monitor productivity, attendance and individual and team performance, addressing issues promptly.
  • Coach, train and develop team members to improve performance and support progression.
  • Identify operational challenges, troubleshoot issues and implement practical solutions.
  • Adapt quickly to changing priorities, volumes and processes within a growing e-commerce operation.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures, site policies, PPE requirements and housekeeping standards.
  • Support accurate stock handling, inventory control and inbound, outbound and despatch activities.
  • Work collaboratively with management and other Team Leaders to maintain operational efficiency and consistent standards.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, helping to develop processes and establish best practice as the site grows.
  • Promote a positive, accountable and team-focused working culture.
What We're Looking For

Essential experience and skills

  • Minimum 6 months' experience in a Team Leader role within logistics, third-party logistics (3PL), warehousing or e-commerce fulfilment.
  • Proven experience managing a team of 15 or more warehouse operatives.
  • Experience working within a fast-paced, target-driven warehouse or distribution environment.
  • A hands-on leadership style, with the confidence to lead from the front and get involved in day-to-day operations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions quickly when operational challenges arise.
  • A proactive approach, with the initiative to identify issues, take ownership and drive improvements.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate, coach and hold a team accountable.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining productivity, quality and safety standards.
  • Flexibility to work 5 days out of 7 on a weekly rota.

Desirable experience

  • Previous involvement in a new warehouse opening, site launch, operational mobilisation or start-up environment.
  • Experience supporting a growing e-commerce fulfilment operation where processes and ways of working are continually developing.
  • Experience across inbound, outbound, picking, packing and despatch operations.
  • A track record of helping teams adapt to change, improve performance and maintain high standards during periods of growth.
The Ideal Candidate

We're looking for a dynamic, adaptable and commercially aware Team Leader who enjoys being close to the operation and understands that effective leadership means being present on the warehouse floor.

You'll be someone who:

  • Leads by example and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves.
  • Can confidently manage a team of 15+ people while maintaining standards and morale.
  • Takes initiative rather than waiting to be told what needs doing.
  • Stays calm under pressure and finds solutions when things don't go to plan.
  • Embraces change and is comfortable working in a newly established operation.
  • Wants to contribute ideas, improve processes and help build a strong team culture.
  • Has the ambition and flexibility to develop as the site expands.

Previous experience in a new-site set-up would be a real advantage, but we're equally interested in strong leaders who can demonstrate the right mindset, adaptability and ability to grow with the operation.

What's On Offer?
  • Competitive hourly pay, with an enhanced rate for eligible night hours.
  • Permanent employment opportunity.
  • Free on-site parking.
  • Full training and ongoing development.
  • The opportunity to join a brand-new, state-of-the-art distribution centre.
  • The chance to make a genuine impact during an exciting period of operational growth.
  • Opportunities to develop your leadership skills and progress as the site evolves.
  • The opportunity to help establish high standards, build a strong team and contribute to the long-term success of the operation.
Why Apply?

This is an opportunity to join an exciting, fast-growing e-commerce logistics operation supporting one of the world's leading social commerce platforms.

You'll be joining at an important stage in the site's development, giving you the chance to do more than maintain existing processes. You'll be able to contribute ideas, solve problems, develop your team and help shape the way the operation works as it grows.

If you're a confident Warehouse Team Leader with experience managing teams of 15+, a proactive approach and the ambition to be part of something new, this could be the next step you've been looking for.

Apply today with your CV and a member of our recruitment team will be in touch.
