Our client, a leading provider of facilities services in the UK, is seeking a Waste Co-ordinator to support the effective delivery of waste and recycling services across the contract.
This is a hands-on role that combines day-to-day waste management coordination with sustainability reporting and continuous improvement activities. The successful candidate will help ensure waste and recycling services are delivered effectively, compliantly and in line with agreed service standards.
The role requires an individual who is comfortable working with environmental data, KPIs and reporting, while coordinating contractors, managing service requests and supporting sustainability initiatives across multiple locations. They will play an important part in monitoring performance, maintaining accurate records and identifying opportunities for environmental improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate waste and recycling services across the contract, ensuring services are delivered effectively and compliantly.
- Monitor waste contractors, service schedules and KPIs, resolving missed collections and service-related issues.
- Manage additional waste and recycling requests, maintaining accurate records and supporting documentation.
- Track and report on waste volumes, recycling performance, carbon emissions and wider sustainability metrics.
- Maintain reporting trackers and provide data for client reports, reviews and improvement plans.
- Identify opportunities to reduce waste, increase recycling rates and improve environmental performance.
- Support sustainability initiatives, including carbon footprint and social value reporting.
- Liaise with site teams, suppliers and stakeholders to maintain service standards and implement service improvements.
Person Specification
- Previous experience within Facilities Coordination is preferred, but not essential.
- Previous administration or coordination experience.
- IT literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Comfortable working with data, records and reporting, particularly environmental or waste-related information.
- Strong attention to detail, especially regarding compliance documentation and reporting.
- Excellent communication skills with confidence when dealing with colleagues, customers and clients.
- Able to work independently and use own initiative.
- Comfortable working collaboratively as part of a wider facilities team and willing to support occasional visits across contract locations as required.
