Autism Unlimited
Whether you’re studying during the week, have family commitments, work elsewhere, or simply want to keep your weekdays free, a Weekend Support Worker role could be the perfect fit.
To be considered for this role you must hold a Full UK driving licence, however access to your own vehicle is not essential.
We are on looking for a Male Support Worker to join the team based in Bournemouth, bringing energy, encouragement and a person-centred approach to the support you provide. You’ll play an important role in helping the people we support build confidence, develop their independence and enjoy everyday life on their own terms.
Every person is different and understanding how someone communicates is a key part of the role. You may use visual supports, PECS, Signalong, gestures or individual communication styles to help people express their choices, needs and preferences. Don’t worry if you’re new to Signalong or other communication methods full training and support will be provided.
No two days are the same. You could be out enjoying a walk or bike ride, listening to music, working on a puzzle, getting creative in the garden or taking part in activities within the local community. Alongside these experiences, you’ll provide practical, person-centred support with everyday tasks such as meal preparation, shopping, personal care and medication.
At the heart of everything we do is promoting the independence of the person we support, and ensuring we have a relaxed, empathetic and encouraging team working with us helps us achieve this aim.
