Accounts Assistant – 10-Month Maternity Cover

Accounts Assistant opportunity offering a competitive salary, bonus scheme and varied workload across finance, credit control, reporting and payroll support. This is a 10-month fixed-term contract covering maternity leave, ideal for an experienced accounts professional with strong organisational skills and Microsoft Dynamics NAV experience who can quickly settle into an established finance team.

Location: Canterbury Area
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.00am - 5.00pm
Salary: £35,000 - £38,000 DOE + Bonus Scheme
Contract: 10-Month Fixed-Term Contract – Maternity Cover

Morgan Jones is recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing client seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their finance team on a 10-month maternity cover contract.

This is a varied role where you will support the day-to-day financial operations of the business, working across accounts, credit control, invoicing, reporting, payroll administration and general finance support.

Duties

• Account management and customer credit checks
• Setting up customer and supplier accounts
• Debt chasing and credit control activities
• Producing debtor and management reports
• Processing supplier invoices and payment runs
• Allocating customer receipts and payment journals
• Bank and credit card reconciliations
• Sales invoicing and credit note processing
• Producing monthly sales figures
• Supporting payroll and HMRC payment administration
• Processing staff expenses and supplier payments
• Maintaining accurate financial records
• Handling accounts-related enquiries
• Liaising with colleagues to resolve invoice and payment queries
• Supporting internal and external audits
• Assisting with general finance and administration across the business

Skills & Experience Required

• Previous accounts and credit control experience
• Experience using Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2015
• Strong organisational and planning skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Good communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Proficient Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
• Able to work independently and manage a varied workload
