Civil Design Engineer
Location: Leicester
Salary: £35,000 - £60,000 (dependent on UK experience)
About the Role
We are looking for a talented and motivated Civil Design Engineer to join an ambitious and growing engineering consultancy. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse range of development projects, varying in scale and complexity, while contributing to the successful delivery of infrastructure solutions for residential and commercial developments.
The successful candidate will have strong technical design experience in site development, roads, and drainage design, with a particular focus on development-led projects and housebuilder schemes.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver infrastructure solutions for residential and commercial developments.
- Prepare detailed designs for:
- Site layouts
- Roads and highways
- Drainage systems
- Sewer networks
- Earthworks and site development infrastructure
- Liaise with clients, local authorities, statutory undertakers, and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Produce technical reports, drawings, and supporting design documentation.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant UK standards, regulations, and industry best practice.
- Support project delivery from concept through to construction.
Essential Experience & Skills
- Proven experience working within a civil engineering consultancy, developer, or housebuilder environment.
- Strong design experience in:
- Site development and infrastructure design
- Roads and sewers design
- Residential development projects
- Ability to work across a variety of project types and scales.
- Strong understanding of UK design standards and approval processes.
- Hands-on design capability is essential.
Technical Proficiency
- Autodesk Civil 3D – Expert level.
- Autodesk AutoCAD – Expert level.
- Autodesk InfoDrainage (formerly MicroDrainage/Inflow) – Expert level.
- Causeway Flow – Competent user.
- Site3D – Competent user.
- Microsoft Outlook – Proficient user.
- MailManager – Experience preferred.
Qualifications
Preferred
- Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- CEng MICE status desirable.

- Candidates actively working towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) and MICE accreditation.
