Construction Project Manager

Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Project Manager to join one of our well-established clients in Birmingham.

Our client is a leading UK construction and civil engineering contractor with a proven track record of delivering complex, high-profile infrastructure, commercial, residential and transportation projects across the UK and Ireland.

Main Scope of Work: Civils, structural, M&E and fit out

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and coordinate civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and fit-out subcontractors.
• Develop and maintain project programmes, resource plans, and delivery strategies.
• Monitor project performance against budget, programme, and key milestones.
• Manage risk identification, mitigation, and opportunity tracking throughout the project lifecycle.
• Chair project progress meetings and provide regular reporting to senior management and stakeholders.
• Coordinate design development and resolve technical and construction-related challenges.
• Oversee procurement activities and subcontractor management.
• Ensure all commissioning, testing, and handover requirements are planned and completed efficiently.
• Maintain effective communication with clients, consultants, local authorities, and other key stakeholders.
• Drive a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the project team.
  

Skills and Requirements:

• Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
  
• Valid Management CSCS, SMSTS, First Aid
• Valid Temporary Works Qualification
• Previous experience as a Project Manager on a similar project
• Experience within the areas listed above
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Working References - Essential
• Strong work ethic
• Full UK License
