Are you an experienced Construction Tutor, Vocational Trainer, or skilled Construction Professional looking for a rewarding new challenge?
We are continually recruiting for a range of full-time, permanent Construction opportunities within the Prison Education sector across the UK.
Whether you're already teaching or currently working in industry, we'd love to hear from you. Many of our clients are happy to support experienced construction professionals in gaining a teaching qualification, making this an excellent opportunity to transition from industry into education.

The Opportunity
Working within prison education provides a unique opportunity to help learners gain practical skills, recognised qualifications, and the confidence needed to secure employment upon release.
You'll use your industry knowledge and experience to deliver engaging training that develops both vocational competence and employability skills, helping learners take positive steps towards a successful future.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging practical and classroom-based construction training.
- Teach industry-standard techniques, procedures, and safe working practices.
- Plan and prepare lessons and learning activities.
- Assess learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Support learners in achieving vocational qualifications.
- Promote employability skills, teamwork, communication, and professionalism.
- Maintain learner records and required documentation.
- Create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
- Support learners with varying abilities and learning needs.
- Help learners develop the skills needed for future employment.
Who We're Looking For
Experienced Construction Tutors
- Experience delivering vocational construction training or education.
- Occupational competency within your specialist trade area.
- Experience planning, delivering, and assessing learning.
- Strong classroom, workshop, or learner management skills.
- Passion for helping learners develop skills and achieve qualifications.
Construction Industry Professionals
We are also keen to hear from experienced tradespeople looking to move into education.
If you have substantial industry experience within a construction trade and would like to pass your skills and knowledge on to others, many of our clients are willing to provide training and support to help you gain a recognised teaching qualification whilst in post.
Desirable
- Teaching qualification.
- Assessing qualification (TAQA, CAVA, A1, or equivalent).
- Experience within Prison Education, Further Education, Adult Education, or Work-Based Learning.
- Knowledge of awarding body requirements.
- Understanding of Ofsted and quality assurance processes.
- Commitment to ongoing CPD and professional development.
