Are you an experienced Buyer who understands the world of engineering and manufacturing?

We’re working with a well-established and growing manufacturing business looking to add an Engineering Buyer to its procurement team.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll take responsibility for sourcing engineered components, materials and technical services, working closely with suppliers and internal engineering, production and quality teams.

What you’ll be doing as Engineering Buyer:

• Sourcing engineered components, raw materials and technical services
• Working from engineering drawings, specifications and BOMs
• Negotiating pricing, terms and lead times with suppliers
• Building and managing strong supplier relationships
• Identifying cost-saving and alternative sourcing opportunities
• Managing supply issues including delays, quality concerns and long lead-time items
• Supporting new product and engineering projects
• Working closely with engineering, production and quality teams
• Monitoring supplier performance, pricing and procurement data

What we’re looking for as Engineering Buyer:

You’ll ideally have experience buying within an engineering or manufacturing environment, with a good understanding of technical components and manufacturing processes.

You’ll also bring:

• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
• Experience using ERP/MRP systems
• Good commercial awareness
• Confidence working with technical and operational teams
• Strong organisation and problem-solving skills

A CIPS qualification or relevant engineering/supply chain qualification would be advantageous, but relevant hands-on experience is just as important.
