Financial Accountant Salary: Up to £60,000 Location: Cumbria | Hybrid Working We are working with a well-established financial services organisation to recruit a Financial Accountant into its Finance team.
This is a great opportunity for someone with strong financial or statutory reporting experience who wants a varied role, exposure to senior stakeholders and the opportunity to develop further within the organisation.

About the Role You will work as part of the Finance team, supporting a broad range of financial accounting, reporting, regulatory and technical accounting activity.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the preparation of the Annual Report and Accounts
- Preparing technical accounting assessments and supporting documentation
- Working across areas including loan impairment, effective interest rate adjustments, financial instruments and hedge accounting
- Leading interactions with internal and external auditors
- Supporting annual budgeting and the longer-term planning process
- Providing financial information and insight at committee meetings
- Coordinating corporation tax and VAT activity
- Keeping up to date with changes to accounting standards and regulatory requirements
- Preparing accurate and timely financial and statistical regulatory returns
- Monitoring regulatory developments and supporting the implementation of changes
- Identifying opportunities to improve Finance processes, efficiency and controls
- Supporting audit and assurance activity
About You We are looking for someone with a strong grounding in financial accounting who is keen to develop their career.
Ideally, you will have:
- A professional accountancy qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA, or be actively working towards one
- Relevant experience in financial or statutory reporting
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Strong Excel skills
- The ability to analyse financial information and communicate your findings clearly
- A proactive approach to identifying improvements and solving problems
- The confidence to work with internal and external stakeholders
You don't necessarily need to have experience in every area of the role. The organisation is happy to support the development of the right person and provide study support where appropriate.
