Job Description:

Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced Grounds Maintenance Operative to join Nottingham City Council's Cemetry Team on an initial 3 month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week. 

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out grounds maintenance duties including grass cutting, strimming, hedge trimming and general landscaping.
• Maintain cemetery grounds to a high standard of presentation, safety and cleanliness.
• Undertake litter picking and general site maintenance.
• Support grave digging and preparation activities when required.
• Assist with sexton duties and cemetery operations.
• Carry out memorial safety inspections and report any issues identified.
• Work alongside funeral directors, contractors and colleagues to support funeral and burial services.

Requirements:

• Experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, horticulture, parks maintenance or a similar outdoor role.
• Experience using grounds maintenance equipment such as mowers, strimmers and hedge cutters.
• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
