Job Title: Health and Safety Manager
Location: Hinckley area, with travel to a second site
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
A busy manufacturing facility are looking for a Health and Safety Manager to lead health, safety and environmental activities across two manufacturing sites.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HSE professional to take ownership of HSE standards, compliance and continuous improvement within a busy engineering environment.
The Role
- Lead and manage Health, Safety and Environmental activities across both sites.
- Ensure compliance with current HSE legislation and company requirements.
- Develop, implement and maintain HSE policies, procedures and systems.
- Carry out risk assessments, audits and inspections.
- Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses and implement corrective actions.
- Provide HSE advice, guidance and training to employees and management.
- Monitor and improve health, safety and environmental performance.
- Manage and maintain relevant HSE documentation and records.
- Support internal and external audits and regulatory inspections.
- Promote a strong health and safety culture throughout the business.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
The Candidate
You will have:
- Proven experience in an HSE / Health & Safety Manager role, ideally within manufacturing or engineering.
- A NEBOSH Level 6 qualification – essential.
- Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and environmental requirements.
- Experience carrying out risk assessments, audits and incident investigations.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- The ability to work confidently with employees at all levels, including senior management.
- A proactive and practical approach to improving HSE standards.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- The flexibility to travel between sites when required.
Experience within engineering or another highly regulated manufacturing environment would be advantageous.
