Managing Quantity Surveyor – Derbyshire – Highways – £Negotiable + Package
How much difference would it make to join a contractor where next year’s workload is already secured and around 70% of 2028 is committed too?
I’m working with a blue-chip civil engineering contractor looking for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join a growing infrastructure division with an unusually strong pipeline of work ahead.
The majority of their workload comes through repeat business and long-standing Local Authority relationships, with projects secured through established frameworks rather than relying heavily on constantly winning one-off tenders. The work itself covers highways improvements, public realm, streetscape, junction upgrades, regeneration and associated civil engineering schemes across the region.
As Managing Quantity Surveyor, you’ll oversee the commercial delivery of multiple projects rather than being tied to one large scheme. You’ll support and manage the commercial team, keep an overview of performance across the portfolio and work closely with operational management and clients. It’s a role for someone who still enjoys being close enough to the projects to know what’s going on, but is ready to have a wider influence over the commercial direction of the business unit.
They’re looking for someone from a strong civil engineering or infrastructure background who has experience overseeing multiple projects and, ideally, managing other commercial staff. Experience of highways, public realm, Local Authority frameworks or similar would translate particularly well.
The salary is genuinely negotiable as they’re more interested in finding the right person than working to a rigid bracket, alongside 28 days holiday, a generous pension and wider company benefits.
For further information about the company, the team you’d be joining and the workload already secured for the next few years, please contact MBS Recruitment Solutions ASAP.
