About the Role

At Groveside School, you'll have the opportunity to transform the lives of young people who need education delivered differently. Our students have a range of additional needs, including SEND, ASD and SEMH, and need a teacher who can inspire confidence, build positive relationships and help them rediscover a love of learning.

This is more than a teaching role. You'll be part of a dedicated and supportive team that prioritises student progress, wellbeing and achievement. With smaller class sizes, a collaborative approach and the freedom to adapt your teaching, you'll have the time and space to make a genuine impact every day.

Whether you're already working within specialist education or you're an experienced Maths Teacher looking for a more meaningful and rewarding career path, we'd love to hear from you.

What you will be doing

  • Deliver engaging and creative Maths lessons tailored to individual student needs
  • Build positive relationships that support confidence, engagement and achievement
  • Monitor progress and adapt teaching strategies to help every student succeed
  • Create a calm, safe and structured learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, families and external professionals
  • Contribute to curriculum development and school improvement initiatives
  • Champion high standards of safeguarding, wellbeing and inclusion

What you will bring

We're looking for a passionate and resilient Maths Teacher who believes every young person can succeed with the right support.

  • QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching Maths at secondary level
  • A student-centred approach with high expectations for all learners
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills
  • Experience of, or an interest in, SEND, ASD and SEMH education
  • The ability to motivate, engage and inspire students who may have experienced barriers to learning
  • A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and helping young people achieve their full potential
