Pay: £14.00 per hour
Hours: 40 hours per week

Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled and reliable Painter & Decorator to carry out internal and external decorating work, ensuring all jobs are completed efficiently and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling imperfections and applying primers.
• Paint walls, ceilings, woodwork and external surfaces using appropriate products and techniques.
• Apply varnishes, stains and protective finishes where required.
• Hang wallpaper and other wall coverings as necessary.
• Carry out minor repairs and touch-ups to achieve a smooth, professional finish.
• Use tools, materials and equipment safely and correctly.
• Maintain a clean and tidy working area and dispose of waste responsibly.
• Follow health and safety procedures at all times.
• Work independently and alongside other trades to complete tasks on schedule.
• Assist with general decorating and maintenance duties when required.

Person Specification

Qualifications:

• Relevant Painting & Decorating qualification, such as NVQ or City & Guilds, is desirable. Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.

Experience and Skills:

• Previous painting and decorating experience in residential or commercial settings.
• Good knowledge of surface preparation, paints and finishes.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
• Awareness of health and safety requirements.

Personal Qualities:

• Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexible and willing to undertake a variety of tasks.
