The Role
We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join a busy team, responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll while providing a high level of customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Process payroll accurately and within agreed deadlines.
Manage payroll information from input through to completion.
Process starters, leavers and employee changes.
Calculate pay, deductions and adjustments accurately.
Handle payroll queries professionally and efficiently.
Investigate discrepancies and take ownership through to resolution.
Maintain accurate payroll records and employee information.
Complete payroll checks and reconciliations.
Ensure statutory requirements and payroll procedures are followed.
Process PAYE, National Insurance and other relevant deductions.
Support pension and auto-enrolment processes.
Assist with statutory payments and payroll-related administration.
Work closely with internal teams to resolve payroll issues.
Provide clear and accurate information to customers and employees.
Manage a high-volume workload while maintaining accuracy.
Handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
Meet payroll deadlines and maintain strong attention to detail.
Keep up to date with relevant payroll legislation and changes.
Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and efficiency.
Contribute positively to a collaborative, customer-focused team.
About You
Previous experience in a payroll position.
Good knowledge of UK payroll processes and legislation.
Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
Organised, proactive and confident managing your own workload.
Comfortable using payroll systems and Microsoft Office.
