Reception SEN Teaching Assistant

  • Location: Rugby, CV22
  • Weekly Pay: £500 - £525
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm (term time only)
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Contract: Long-term, Temp-to-Perm

Long Term Futures is seeking a caring and patient Reception SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Rugby. The role will focus on supporting children within Reception with additional needs, helping them access learning, develop their communication and build confidence and independence within the classroom.

You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO, providing targeted SEN support alongside wider classroom assistance. Experience supporting children with ASD, communication needs, Makaton and PECS would be particularly beneficial.



What the school is looking for:

  • Qualifications: Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent)
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year working within a Primary School, Preschool or EYFS setting
  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN, particularly ASD and communication needs
  • Knowledge or experience of Makaton, PECS and visual communication strategies
  • Experience supporting phonics and early learning
  • A good understanding of the EYFS curriculum
  • A patient, nurturing and consistent approach
