Job description
We are seeking an experienced
Civils Site Manager to oversee the successful delivery of civil engineering and infrastructure projects. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business with a strong pipeline of work across highways, utilities, groundworks, reinforced concrete, drainage, and infrastructure schemes.
As Site Manager, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day site operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
✅ Manage all on-site construction activities from mobilisation through to completion
✅ Coordinate subcontractors, direct labour, plant, and materials
✅ Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards
✅ Prepare and implement site programmes and work schedules
✅ Conduct site inspections, toolbox talks, and safety briefings
✅ Monitor project progress and report to senior management
✅ Maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and local authorities
✅ Manage RAMS, permits, and project documentation
✅ Identify and mitigate project risks and resolve site issues efficiently
✅ Ensure works are completed in line with specifications, drawings, and contractual requirements
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Site Manager within civil engineering or infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of groundworks, drainage, highways, utilities, RC structures, or heavy civils
- Proven ability to manage multiple subcontractors and site teams
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Strong understanding of HSEQ standards and industry best practices
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Essential Qualifications
- SMSTS
- CSCS Card (Management Level)
- First Aid at Work
- Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable
- Temporary Works Coordinator
- NRSWA Supervisor
- NEBOSH Certificate
- Experience working on highways, utilities, rail, or infrastructure frameworks
