Technical Sales Representative

Tamworth | £40,000 + £5,000 Bonus | Permanent | Full-Time

365 People are recruiting for a Technical Sales Representative to join an established and growing specialist engineering manufacturer based in Tamworth.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who combines technical understanding with strong commercial ability and wants to develop their career within international technical sales.

The role will focus on driving sales growth across international markets, developing an established network of distributors and agents, identifying new opportunities and providing customers with technical advice on a specialist range of engineered products.

The company supplies highly technical equipment into sectors including automotive, aerospace, coatings, electronics and materials testing.

You do not need previous experience within this specific product sector. Full product training can be provided to the right candidate.

The Role

As Technical Sales Representative, your responsibilities will include:

• Identifying new business opportunities and potential markets
• Supporting distribution partners to achieve sales growth
• Responding to technical and commercial enquiries
• Providing technical product advice to customers and distributors
• Managing opportunities throughout the complete sales cycle
• Visiting customers to follow up enquiries and develop relationships
• Delivering product demonstrations, technical presentations and training
• Attending international trade fairs and industry events
• Maintaining accurate CRM records and managing the sales pipeline
• Producing sales forecasts and reports
• Monitoring competitor activity and market trends
• Negotiating sales prices and discounts
• Working closely with engineering, production, marketing and aftersales teams
• Supporting marketing campaigns and activities where required

International Travel

This is a UK-based position; however, international travel is an important part of the role.

You will visit customers, distributors and agents in overseas markets and attend international exhibitions and industry events.

Candidates must therefore be comfortable travelling internationally when required.

About You

We're looking for someone who is technically capable but also commercially driven and comfortable developing business.

Ideally, you'll have:

• An Engineering HND, degree or equivalent technical background
• Previous experience within technical sales, engineering sales or a technical customer-facing role
• The ability to understand and discuss technical products confidently
• Strong commercial and negotiation skillsExperience managing customer or distributor relationships
• The ability to manage a sales cycle from prospecting through to closure
• Strong organisational and CRM skills

Previous international technical sales experience and experience managing distributor networks would be particularly advantageous.

Experience within laboratory equipment, environmental testing, corrosion control or another specialist engineering environment would also be beneficial, although this is not essential.
