We are recruiting for an experienced Account Director – Healthcare to take overall responsibility for the successful delivery, commercial performance and strategic development of a major healthcare Facilities Management account in London.
๐ฅ This is a senior strategic leadership position for an established Facilities Management professional with significant experience within healthcare, hospital or complex FM environments.
๐ The successful candidate will provide strategic and operational leadership across the account, working closely with senior healthcare stakeholders while leading large, multi-disciplinary teams and ensuring facilities management services are delivered safely, compliantly and to the highest possible standards.
๐ The role will provide significant autonomy to shape account strategy, drive service excellence, develop senior stakeholder relationships and identify opportunities for continuous improvement and commercial growth.
๐ Responsibilities & Duties
• ๐ฅ Take overall accountability for the strategic and operational performance of a major healthcare FM account.
• ๐ Develop and deliver a long-term account strategy aligned with client objectives, operational requirements and service expectations.
• ๐ Provide visible and effective senior leadership across the entire account.
• ๐ค Build, maintain and develop strong relationships with senior hospital stakeholders, including executive-level contacts.
• ๐ Act as the senior point of contact and escalation for operational, commercial and client-related matters.
• ๐ฅ Lead, inspire and develop large multi-disciplinary operational teams across the account.
• ๐ฏ Establish clear objectives, expectations and performance standards across the operational structure.
• ๐ท Take full ownership of P&L performance, budgets, financial controls and commercial outcomes.
• ๐ Monitor financial performance and ensure the account operates in line with agreed commercial objectives.
• ๐ Identify opportunities for account growth, additional services, operational efficiencies and commercial development.
• ๐ก Develop and implement initiatives that improve service quality, efficiency, productivity and customer experience.
• ๐ Drive continuous improvement, innovation and service transformation across the FM operation.
• ๐ Ensure all contractual obligations, KPIs, SLAs and performance requirements are consistently achieved.
• ๐ Use operational performance data, reporting and analytics to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities.
• ๐ง Translate performance information into effective strategic and operational decisions.
• ๐ก๏ธ Ensure robust Health & Safety, quality, compliance and risk management standards are maintained across the account.
• ๐ฅ Maintain a strong understanding of the patient-critical nature of the healthcare environment and its impact on FM service delivery.
• ๐จ Provide senior leadership during operational incidents, service failures, critical events and escalated issues.
• ๐ค Develop a strong culture of collaboration, accountability, engagement and customer service.
• ๐ Promote a culture of service excellence and continuous improvement throughout the account.
• ๐ฅ Support workforce planning, succession planning, talent development and leadership capability.
• ๐ Coach and develop senior operational managers to maximise performance and engagement.
• ๐ข Ensure resources, people and service delivery remain aligned with operational requirements and stakeholder expectations.
• ๐ Lead and support operational change, transformation and improvement programmes.
• ๐ Ensure effective account governance, reporting and performance management processes are maintained.
• ๐ Identify operational and commercial risks and ensure appropriate mitigation strategies are implemented.
• ๐ Ensure all contractual, statutory and regulatory requirements are understood and effectively managed.
• ๐ฆบ Maintain a strong focus on Health & Safety leadership across all areas of service delivery.
• ๐ Review account performance against agreed KPIs, SLAs and financial targets.
• ๐ท Identify opportunities to improve financial performance while protecting service quality and compliance.
• ๐ฃ๏ธ Prepare and deliver high-quality management information, presentations and performance reports.
• ๐ค Present account performance, strategic plans and improvement initiatives to senior stakeholders.
• ๐ค Work collaboratively with internal leadership, commercial, finance, HR, compliance and operational teams.
• ๐ Drive consistent standards of operational excellence across all areas of the account.
• ๐ฑ Promote innovation, sustainability, efficiency and best practice across the Facilities Management operation.
• ๐ Ensure appropriate governance, controls and assurance processes are maintained.
• ๐ Ensure actions arising from audits, inspections, performance reviews and stakeholder feedback are effectively managed.
• ๐ ๏ธ Support mobilisation, transition, transformation and service improvement activity where required.
• ๐ฅ Ensure FM services support the safe and effective operation of a complex hospital environment.
• ๐ ๏ธ Undertake other reasonable duties appropriate to the seniority and responsibilities of the role.
๐ค Requirements
• ๐ Proven experience as an Account Director, Account Manager, Operations Director or senior Facilities Management leader within a healthcare environment.
• ๐ฅ Strong experience working within a hospital, NHS, private healthcare or similarly complex healthcare environment.
• ๐ข Proven experience managing large and complex Facilities Management contracts.
• ๐ฅ Significant experience leading large, multi-disciplinary operational teams.
• ๐ง Detailed understanding of the challenges associated with delivering FM services within a patient-critical and highly regulated environment.
• ๐ท Strong commercial awareness with demonstrable experience of P&L ownership and budget management.
• ๐ Proven track record of account growth, commercial development and delivering financial performance.
• ๐ Strong understanding of contractual performance, KPIs, SLAs and account governance.
• ๐ค Excellent senior stakeholder management skills.
• ๐ Confidence communicating and influencing at executive and board level.
• ๐ Proven experience delivering operational improvements, service transformation and continuous improvement programmes.
• ๐ Demonstrable track record of achieving high levels of client satisfaction and service performance.
• ๐ก๏ธ Strong Health & Safety leadership experience.
• ๐ Good understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation and compliance requirements.
