Chartered Structural Engineer 

Vickerstock are working with an established engineering consultancy to recruit a Chartered Structural Engineer to join their Coventry office.

This role is for an experienced, chartered engineer who wants to take genuine technical ownership of projects, working within a consultancy that backs its people with a strong, well-rounded benefits package.

Your new role as Chartered Structural Engineer

Responsibilities will include:

• Leading the structural design of projects, including analysis, calculations and design development
• Producing, checking and approving calculations, drawings and specifications
• Coordinating with architects, other engineering disciplines and the wider design team
• Acting as a point of contact for clients and stakeholders throughout the project
• Carrying out site visits and inspections as required
• Reviewing the work of other engineers and providing technical guidance
• Supporting and mentoring graduate and junior engineers
• Contributing to fee proposals and project planning

What you will need to succeed

• Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
• Chartered status with the IStructE or ICE
• Strong experience in structural design within a consultancy environment
• Confidence using relevant structural analysis and design software
• Good knowledge of relevant design codes and standards
• Strong communication skills and the ability to manage client relationships
• Experience mentoring or supervising other engineers would be advantageous
