M&M Supply is an education recruitment agency, who specialise within Special Educational Needs, working in partnership with a number of SEN/SEMH Schools across Taunton. We are currently recruiting passionate and dedicated SEN/SEMH Teaching Assistant to support children and young people with a variety of Additional Learning Needs (ALN), but also Social Emotional and Mental Health difficulties.

Due to diagnosis, depending on the school and requirements, some roles may involve working with young individuals with Behavioural Difficulties.

About the Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with a range of Additional Learning Needs (ALN)
  • Support learners with ASD, ADHD, SEMH needs, speech and language difficulties, SEMH and complex learning needs
  • Assist in delivering personalised learning programmes tailored to individual needs and support plans
  • Promote positive behaviour strategies in line with school policies
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and social development
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and pastoral teams
  • Support pupils with personal care needs where required

Who We’re Looking For

We welcome applications from individuals who:

  • Have experience working with children or young people with SEN/ALN/SEMH (school, care, youth work, sports coaching, support work or similar)
  • Are patient, empathetic, and resilient
  • Have strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Are confident supporting pupils with additional behavioural or emotional needs
  • Hold a Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential)
  • Have an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or are willing to obtain one)

Experience within specialist settings or working with pupils with complex needs would be highly advantageous.
