SEN Teaching Assistants - Rochdale

We are currently recruiting for two experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to join a supportive secondary mainstream school in Rochdale on a long-term, full-time basis.
One position is available to start ASAP, with the second role commencing after October half term.
The school is looking for dedicated and compassionate individuals who have previous experience supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and can build positive relationships with students while supporting their academic, social and emotional development.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidates will:
Have previous experience working with children or young people with SEN
Have experience working in a school, college, specialist provision or similar educational setting
Be confident supporting students with a range of additional needs
Be patient, resilient and able to build strong relationships with pupils
Be able to work effectively as part of a wider school team
Have a genuine passion for supporting children and young people to reach their potential
Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Desirable Background
The school would particularly welcome applications from candidates with a Psychology or Educational Psychology background, especially:
Psychology graduates
Educational Psychology graduates
Graduates who have completed a placement involving children or young people with SEN
Candidates with previous employment or volunteering experience supporting children with additional needs
This could be an excellent opportunity for a graduate looking to gain further hands-on experience within an educational setting and develop their understanding of SEN.
Essential Requirements
Candidates must have:
Previous experience working with children with SEN
A DBS registered on the Update Service
References covering the last 2 years
The right to work in the UK
A strong commitment to safeguarding and child welfare
