SEN Learning Support Assistant

Job description

We are currently recruiting for SEN Learning Support Assistants within a college setting, supporting learners with additional needs and learning disabilities.

Both full-time and part-time opportunities are available.

Role Details:

• Contract: Permanent
• Full-time: 37 hours per week, 37 weeks per year.
• Part-time: 22.2 hours per week (3 days).

The Role:

You will work closely with students who have additional learning needs, providing classroom support and helping them develop confidence, independence and essential life skills.

Responsibilities include:

• Supporting learners with a range of learning disabilities and additional needs.
• Providing 1:1 and small-group learning support.
• Encouraging student participation, engagement and independence.
• Supporting learners with their personal, social and educational development.
• Working alongside tutors and other support staff to create a positive learning environment.

Essential Requirements:

• GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent).
• Previous experience supporting young people or adults with learning disabilities.
• A caring, patient and enthusiastic approach.
• A genuine passion for supporting learners with additional needs.
